Every year on 25 April, Australians gather to mark Anzac Day. It is a time for remembrance, honouring those who served and died in wars and conflicts.
But once the dawn services and marches are complete, another tradition takes over in pubs and Returned and Services League (RSL) clubs across the country: the game of Two Up.
For many, it’s not Anzac Day without the sound of coins spinning in the air and a crowd shouting “Come in spinner!”
Two-up is more than just a gambling game. It is a piece of Australian Culture, tied closely to the nation’s military history and the mateship that has long been seen as central to the Anzac spirit.
