Alan Percy’s transition from a seasoned sideman, Singer/Songwriter and multi instrumentalist to a solo artist has been 50 years in the making. His songs have been recorded by other artist’s over the years, been nominated and won awards and reached the top of the charts. As musician Alan has supported and backed many major Australian artists both here and abroad over his entertaining journey.
His debut single “They Waltzed With Matilda” was penned by Alan and invokes a sense of national identity and shared grief after the tragic events of Bondi in October 2025. Given the timing of the song’s creation— just two weeks after the Bondi tragedy—it sounds like the kind of raw, honest tribute that serves as a necessary part of the healing process for a community and a country. if it weren’t for a few people that believed it needed to be heard.” That sentiment is why Alan finally decided
to take to his studio and press record. These moments often mark the difference between a “song” and an
