Legendary Australian guitarist, Lindsay Butler, and rising instrumental talent, Anthony Baxter, unite in a powerful collaboration that celebrates the timeless tradition of Australian country guitar.
Renowned as “The Master of Country Guitar,” Butler is widely regarded as one of Australia’s greatest country instrumentalists and most respected record producers. Beginning his professional recording career in 1973 as guitarist for Slim Dusty, he became the first country guitarist in Australia to release a solo instrumental album and won an early Golden Guitar Awards honour for Instrumental of the Year. Across more than five decades, Butler has recorded 35 instrumental albums and produced countless recordings through Lindsay Butler Studios and the LBS Music label.
Joining him is Tamworth-based guitarist Anthony Baxter, a gifted traditional and bush ballad stylist whose emotive playing has earned national and international acclaim. His instrumental releases, including “Wattle in the Spring,” “Bunyip Bounce,” and “Pride of New England,” written by Shaza Leigh, have achieved chart success and global recognition.
Their latest collaboration, “Mount Scoria,” also written by Shaza Leigh, brings these two outstanding guitarists together in a powerful instrumental tribute to Australia’s landscape and rich country music heritage.
