As a child growing up in an itinerant migrant family that cherished adventure and travel, Connie Kis learned from an early age that home was more than where you lay your hat. Home was where you were surrounded by love and nurturing experiences.
Fast forward to the present, and those old habits have perpetuated.
Even though she resides in Perth, Connie Kis is a true troubadour and has done much travelling in the pursuit of her music passion.
A radio tour of Scandinavia, numerous trips to the US – playing esteemed venues such as the Bluebird Cafe, Midnight Jamboree, The Troubadour Theatre – all more than once, loads of Songwriter rounds, and Showcases in notable Nashville venues. This includes the Sounds Australia Showcase, attending ASCAP Conferences in Hollywood, Music Business and CRS Radio conferences in Nashville and much more. On home turf she has played major festivals such as the Gympie Muster, TCMF, Mildura CMF, Boyup Brook CMM, WAMIs and other profile festivals and venues here in Australia. The list goes on ….
So, inspired by her travels and experiences, she wrote and recorded this heartfelt, poignant song: ‘A Place Called Home’. The essence of the song being found in the chorus.
