‘Start Where You Are’ is a lively happy song with a message of positivity. Written by Angus Gill, Templeton Thompson and Sam Gay, it’s a song of inspiration and vision and brings the message that no matter what age you are or what stage of life you’re at it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard the words and just knew I wanted to share this message with as many people as I could. I’m so excited that I’ve been able to record it with Angus as Producer and release it out to the wide world. The song is a real cheerleader for pursuing your dreams and not giving up. I’m so enthusiastic about the song that I very nearly made it the title track for my album because it helped me overcome my own insecurities and doubts about creating another album and whether it was in fact too late to re-ignite my life-time dream of a musical career, but as the first line of the song says ‘The best time to plant an oak seed is 50 years ago, the NEXT best time to plant one is TODAY.
I think we often get overwhelmed by the enormity of our dreams and how to achieve them, or if it’s even possible so this song is a great reminder that we don’t need to wait for things to be perfect OR think our chances have passed us by. So, just take a deep breath and ‘Start Where You Are’.
