Born in Hughenden, Lloyd Back spent most of his childhood growing up on a farm on the Darling Downs and has spent almost all his life living in rural areas of Queensland. A love of country life, living and music is in his blood and shines through in his songwriting. He has an authentic understanding of, and love for, the Australian bush, which is the inspiration for many of his songs. ‘Black Cockatoo’ is certainly no exception, drawing on bush and Aboriginal folklore and his own experience.
