Victoria Crosby – Drowning Town (MP3)
$1.65
‘Drowning Town’ is one of the most haunting album tracks on *North of the Range*, capturing the devastation that followed the 2023 floods in Far North Queensland. Written in the aftermath of Cyclone Jasper, the song reflects on the heartbreak of watching familiar places wash away — not just the buildings and roads, but the stories, memories, and sense of home tied to them. With sparse, reverent production and lyrics that cut deep, Victoria Crosby gives voice to the quiet grief felt in disaster’s wake. Drowning Town isn’t about sensational headlines — it’s about what’s left when the cameras go. A moving tribute to the towns that vanish beneath rising waters, and the people who keep going long after the floodwaters recede.
