Alan Mackey

Toowoomba songwriter Alan Mackey has had an interesting and exciting year – a Top 5 Tamworth Gold Guitars “Bush Ballad of the Year” result for “Waiting For The Boss” with Angus Gill and Mary O’Brien; Winner, with legend Kelly Dixon, for Bush Ballad of the Year with “Paint A Picture For You” at the Brumby Awards (sung by Ken “Chainsaw” Lindsay), and a writer share as part of TC Cassidy’s current No.1 song “Alive Again” using the title, hookline and melody that he carried from 1976.

His early 1980’s vinyl album, “1 AM” is an in-demand collectors’ item internationally and he sold his last copies at $150 per record. He released “Like Jacaranda” in 2005, and “Pages of the Past” in 2012. Alan is more than excited about his new album “Walking Away With The Moon”, with good mate and Producer, Angus Gill, which will be released in February.

“Alan Mackey serves up lyrics that connect direct to your heart, tunes to die for, and top shelf production from maestro Angus Gill. The title song from Mackey’s new album, “Walking Away With The Moon” has it all.” John Elliott
