Ben Walker is a singer songwriter who thrives on making music to fully immerse himself in the challenges, sorrow and joy that surround us every day. Following on from the success of 3 songs released in 2020, Ben released “Castles” the first track from his new 5 track EP, ‘Time to Go’, in October 2021 – gaining play across a wide range of stations including Tamworth’s 2TM and 92.9FM, Australian Country Radio, Good Morning Country and the ABC. “Time to Go” was released as a single and EP in early 2022 gaining similar wide-ranging play.
After taking his music to a Sydney audience in 2022, Ben headed to the Tamworth Country Music Festival in April, alongside guitarist Frank Burgo, playing 10 shows, generating an excellent response – returning again for “Hats Off” in the middle of 2022. On Ben’s last visit to Tamworth in 2023, he amassed more than 15 shows including an extended “Fanzone” appearance which generated a strong positive response.
Alongside increasingly regular performances, Ben writes industriously, on his own, with Frank and increasingly with other writers including the likes of Allan Caswell, Ashleigh Dallas, Luke O’Shea, Kevin Bennett and Andy Penkow. Bens latest song ‘I Won’t Forget’, written in response to his mother’s Alzheimer diagnosis last year, is a beautiful collaboration with Allan Caswell, Beth Lucas and Stephen Dobson – and was recently listed as a semi-finalist in the 2022 International Song Writing Competition.
