This song was written by the late, great Shorty Ranger. Shorty Ranger is the uncle of my partner, and we would often visit Shorty’s homestead, near Kempsey (named ‘Winter Winds’) to have tea and scones.
One day, Shorty brought out one of his songs written on a piece of paper and began to sing it. It was the song, ‘Whispering Winds’, and as soon as I heard it, I loved it and have been singing it ever since.
