No PROMISES are a dynamic Alt Country duo from South Gippsland, in country Victoria. Masterful storytellers, they have a huge catalogue of original music, and are currently recording their third and fourth album simultaneously. Having such a rich selection of original songs to choose from, their most recent album – The River is a collection of the best. Spawning six supremely catchy singles – Ashes & Dust (which took out third place in the Australian Songwriters Association Awards), Badlands, Odessa, the smouldering Paper Heart, Montgomery Rain and Coming Home – Eric and Janine will take you on a journey of emotions and life issues from depression to broken homes, cheating hearts, heartbreak and the joy of coming home to loved ones after long stints touring. If their most recent single Some Kind Of Wonderful is anything to go by, their next album will be their best yet.
Janine Garvey is a prolific songwriter, with hundreds of songs slated for recording, crossing countless boundaries and genres. She has a knack for creating melodic hooks that will stick in your head for days. Her voice will captivate you with it’s beautiful tone and power, she is often compared vocally to Stevie Nicks, Chrissy Amphlett and Melissa Etheridge.
Eric Colliers’s musical arrangements and capabilities on stage combined with his smooth rich vocals will leave you with jaw dropping reverence. Eric comes from a blues background and grew up listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Johnson and Eric Clapton to name a few, which is evident in his skillful guitar playing style.
