Sandy Summers
Sandy Summers is a soloist & accredited singer-songwriter from Cessnock NSW (AUS). Named ICMA’s ‘Best NEW Australian Independent Female Country Artist’ for 2025 at Tamworth, she is a 2-time multi category Finalist of the ACM People’s Choice Awards (’24-’25) & a Top 3 Finalist in the 2024 TICMA Awards.
Sandy debuted on the airwaves in July 2023 with release of her song “Jet lag”. She followed that up with a further 4 tracks from her self-penned “Summer Storm” EP, all 5 of which landed on the Country Songs Top 40 Australian Airplay Chart. “Run Today” made an appearance at #5 on AMRAP’s Regional Chart whilst 2 tracks from the Ep, “One Step At A Time” & “Hell Of A Highway” reached spots well inside #10 on the Top 40 along with Sandy’s cover of “Angel Of The Morning” & cowrite “My Roadie”.
Classically trained through the AMEB Sandy’s musical influences are quite diverse from classic, modern country deep into pop, rock n’ roll & even classical music. As a result, her works display shifts in flavour widening appeal for her music.
With fearless expressive vocals, Sandy leans toward Alt Country/Rock & confesses to have a soft spot for Power Ballads. Her originals mostly focus on tough times growing up writing from the heart & she is a promising songwriter with several of her tracks recognised as semifinalists by the TSA.
In January she connected with other artists & fans on Peel St during her 5th appearance at TCMF & it is here she met TSA Finalist Songwriter Bruce Mackay (Mack Country) which was the beginning of a co-writing friendship producing the likes of “My Roadie” & the much anticipated “Odds On Love”.
Over the past months Sandy has been busy writing & working in the studio having drawn inspiration from her travels which include her attendance at the SHE Songwriting Retreats. It was here where she met & co-wrote with Gretta Ziller & Kylie Gale in 2024 & more recently Kate Ballantyne, Angela Easson, Christine M Kerr, Jenny Churchill & the a-famed Lyn Bowtell (retreat coordinator).
Sandy’s creativity extends beyond music with a collection of music videos on her YouTube channel. Working alongside Blacklist Productions, she has 3 videos under her belt including “Hell of a Highway” which reached 10K+ views in its first 4 weeks & is a nominated Finalist in the 2026 ICMA Awards.
A 2023 Hunter Valley Stars of Fame recipient, Sandy never does things by halves, and she applies this same energy to her singing, writing and live performance.
Her brand continually gains momentum & although Sandy may be coined a late bloomer in the music industry, she has come a long way in a brief time & for Sandy, “Singing & songwriting will always be knocking on the inside wanting out!”
