Sherrie Shines

Sherrie was raised on a farm, outside Dubbo, in Central NSW. Her father owned “Sandy Hill”, a riding school, where he taught people how to ride horses and he held rodeos where Slim Dusty would attend. Sherrie grew up listening to her favourite country music songs and at night would fall asleep listening to Slim.

Partner and Manager, John Mewburn, has helped create “Sherrie Shines “and is developing her career as an independent country music singer-songwriter. They decided to travel to Tamworth to record with one of Slim’s renowned guitar players, multi-award-winning producer, Lindsay Butler OAM and chose to cover one of Slim’s massive hit songs, ‘Saddle Boy.’ Young guitar picker and friend, Anthony Baxter, featured on the track alongside seasoned session musicians, Shaza Leigh, Peggy Gilchrist and Pixie Jenkins.

Sherrie excitedly said “I’m truly blessed to have been involved in two fun days with some amazing professional artists at LBS Studios in Tamworth. To be able to capture & feel the magical musical vibes, where Our ‘King Of Country Music’ and memorabilia and memories were all around us, inside this wonderful place – Lindsay Butler Studios. It was all of this and more that helped us make a fabulous new single for me.” Even though Sherrie normally writes and records her own songs, she is very proud of her version of “Saddle Boy” and pleased to release it to radio as the first single from her forthcoming album.
