Steve Sparrow
Steve Sparrow, a talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Brisbane, has firmly established his presence as a respected figure in the Country Music industry. Not only is he recognised for his musical prowess, but he also excels as a record producer, sound engineer, and music teacher.
Steve’s latest album, Now and Forever boasts a range of styles from upbeat country rock to Ballads and Bluegrass, mixed up with finger style guitar, and rock ’n’ country blues.
His new single, NOW AND FOREVER, is the third single from the current album.
Prior to this, Steve achieved notable success with his previous album, ‘Paint Your Cactus Green’, which featured three top-ten country singles including the song social network freak, reaching number one in the Australian Country Tracks Chart.
Despite being born blind, Steve has triumphed over adversity, carving out his own unique path in music. Recognised for his songwriting talents, Steve has twice been nominated as a top-five finalist at the Tamworth Songwriters Association (TSA), with his compositions ‘Just Can’t Sleep’ and, most recently, ‘American Honey’. He was also a nominee in the People’s Choice awards in Tamworth this year with the track ‘Big Old Land Australia’.
Steve’s musical journey began alongside his sister in the duo known as The Sparrows, recording under the Selection Records label and receiving widespread airplay across the nation. His talents were honoured with a prestigious Gold Guitar at the Gore Country Music Festival in New Zealand.
A familiar presence at country music festivals throughout Australia, Steve is equally respected within the Southeast Queensland pub and club circuit. His contributions extend beyond the stage, with two nominations for the Blind Australian of the Year awards and his lead role in a Facebook promotion for TransLink, aimed at raising awareness for people with vision impairment and disabilities utilising public transport.
In addition to his performance career, Steve is a highly regarded record producer, at Sparrow Sound Studio, specialising in Country Music production.
Steve Sparrow also shares his expertise by teaching audio production to other blind individuals, serving as a mentor in both musicianship and the music industry.
