Melissa Bajric

Melissa Bajric has spent more than 25 years building one of the most accomplished careers in Australian country music. Signed to Drover Music at just 16, she released her debut album, Believe In Me, in 2001 — earning multiple Best New Talent awards and launching a career that would take her from the recording studio to national and international charts, television and radio, and some of the biggest stages in Australian country music. With multiple albums, charting singles, award recognition, and her name on the Country Music Wall of Honour in Tamworth, Melissa has the credentials to match the voice, the songs and the show.
Melissa’s show is a big part of the story. The Melissa Bajric Show is a full-scale live
production developed alongside award-winning musician and producer Lindsay
Waddington. Featuring her full band, guest artists and visual production, the show
has toured extensively and become a major fixture of the Tamworth Country Music
Festival. In January 2027, Melissa will celebrate her show’s 15th year at Tamworth’s
iconic Capitol Theatre — a remarkable run that places her show as the longest
running festival show at the venue.
Now, 25 years after the release of her debut album, Melissa is celebrating the
milestone with ‘My Dad Was a Road Train Man – 25th Anniversary Edition’. The
release is a significant meeting of past and present: Melissa’s original vocal, recorded
with Lindsay Butler in 2001, remains at the heart of the track, while her on-stage
musical director and producer of her modern works, Lindsay Waddington, has re
recorded much of the instrumentation to create a fresh, contemporary production.
It’s a fitting reminder of what has made Melissa Bajric a force in Australian country
music for a quarter of a century.
