Murray Lloyd

Murray was born in the small country village of Kihi Kihi, near Te Awamutu, New Zealand. He shares the same birthplace as Neil and Tim Finn of Split Endz and Crowded House fame. Coming from a farming family, he started playing music from an early age, encouraged by his father, a classically trained piano player. Taking up guitar he played in bands during his school years and started to work as a full time musician after arriving in Australia at the tender age of 21.

Murray has travelled and worked all along the East Coast of Australia including many of the big island resorts such as Heron Island, Dunk Island, and in the Whitsunday’s. He now calls the Noosa Hinterland home where he has lived and worked for the past 30 years.

Murray plays many different genres including Country, Rock, Aussie Pub Rock, R and B, light jazz and instrumentals. Using guitar, his great voice and a loop pedal he is an extremely versatile musician, playing a great mix of 60’s through to present day music, including classics from the Eagles and Ed Sheeran. With over 1000 shows and more than 40 years’ experience in the music business, (some 600 songs) Murray is the real deal.

Murray’s new single, “Jericho Road” from his new EP of the same name, is about to be released, with the full EP available in the next few months.
