Phil Salter

“Phil Salter is one of those rare South Australians in that for some forty plus years he has made music his life and career. Since 1972 Phil has been making music and has over thirty years of guitar playing experience in clubs and hotels. He has performed in many types of ensembles from solo/duo combinations, singing bass baritone in “The Adelaide Connection” jazz choir, as a member of a full orchestra with choir playing the lead guitar in the musical “Jesus Christ Superstar”, to three piece and large rock ensembles.

 

In 1985 Phil gained a Bachelors Degree in Music Education; since and over the years has worked in the music industry as a music teacher, freelance musician, music industry educator, lecturer in Commercial Music at TAFE. He has written and pitched songs for publisher markets in S.E Asia, and managed a successful South Australian country music artist.

 

2021 saw Phil’s long overdue return to live performance, he is receiving well deserved accolades for the experienced and audience engaging performer that he is.

 

A number of performing and production credits have Phil appearing on a variety of releases including singing Bass Baritone on the 1985 ABC Records “Adelaide Connection” LP “Makin’ Whoopee”, and his independent releases of his own songs “Genoa’s Set”, “Burn Down The Mountain” and “Long White Line” in 2022, “Something Special” in March 2023, and now his new song “Big Surprise”. Phil songs have been getting a considerable amount or airplay on community and internet radio throughout Australia and worldwide including Nashville USA and the UK”.
