Scotty Mack

Growing up in Outback Queensland, Scotty Mack calls Charleville home, living and
breathing what life in the outback means to this inspiring singer/songwriter. As Scotty
proudly explains, “I was always a music kid, I used to pretend to be Elvis in
kindergarten and then dance like Michael Jackson in local primary school talent
shows.”

But In 1995, Scotty’s world was turned upside down following the sudden death of
his father. He was only ten years old, and this would be a huge turning point for both
Scotty and his Mum. “Mum loved country music and a good time”, explains Scotty.
“We would go to all the local events where a band was playing, and I remember
Mum taking me to the Roma Country Music Festival to watch my cousin sing. I said I
wanna do that mum!!”

Not long after, Scotty got his first chance to sing on stage with the Walmsley
brothers, performing on the back of a truck at the Charleville racecourse. “From then
on I was hooked”, says Scotty. Influenced by Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn and
Alan Jackson, Scotty Mack became a Finalist in the Road to Tamworth and Qld
Champion of Champions competitions. Since those good old days Scotty has been
entertaining playing covers in outback pubs for 20 + years and working on his music
career. Putting it simply, country music is Scotty’s life, his identity and his passion.
