Welcome to the debut single, ‘Circus Life’, by Wattmore, a Brisbane based cowpunk duo … brothers Aiden and Kai Boak. Take a 19 and 20-year-old who cite their main influences as being Oasis, Greenday and Waylon Jennings and you get some idea of how they look at Wattmore musically.
‘Circus Life’ is a subtle reference to the boys’ autism and how it makes them “different”. “That’s why I love working with Wattmore” says Allan Caswell “There are no restrictions, toeing the corporate line or worrying about getting on some vapid, highly skewed streaming playlist … it’s all about writing great songs and nailing the performance. We start on the edge of left field and work our way inwards.”
Wattmore are working towards their first album, an eclectic collection of killer songs, embracing classic country, punk, rockabilly and blues and, coming from a trucking family, their own subgenre … truck punk.
Circus Life is a very cool song and a taster for the unlimited potential for what Wattmore is about to become.
